This June I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to shoot the marriage of Torrey Burchak to Kennedy Mcleod. Surrounded by family and friends they exchanged vows on the grounds of beautiful Le San Michele in Buda, TX.
Incredible artistic attention was paid to the details at the wedding. There were several wooden placards of varying sizes placed about the venue with quotes from movies like The Notebook and The Princess Bride. The guestbook was a large atlas painted upon a wooden sign adorned with lyrics from the 80’s band Modern English. There were framed photos of family members lining the sides of the ceremony aisle. The bride’s father even painted a huge scene of the location where Kennedy proposed to Torrey. Lots of love and detail went into this day.
Through the course of the day we witnessed champagne corks flying through salons. We saw Torrey’s father walking in where the ladies where gathered before the wedding and upon seeing his daughter in her dress, stopping stunned and speechless. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room – photographer included. A flock of birds suddenly flew overhead right before the announcement of the bride and groom was made, and no that wasn’t staged. Ever been to a wedding where a guest broke out with Kevin Bacon’s moves from the final scene in Footloose? Yes, we saw it happen.
I am happy to share some of these moments with you. A big thank you to my team of Steve Wampler and my wife Tanja!
