The Children’s Art Park is a wonderful program put together by the Austin Symphony and it runs for around a month each summer.
If you are in the Austin, Texas area around the summer months of June and July and are looking for something to do with your kids, do yourself a favor and put this on your to do list. It’s not too often you can call something both educational and fun, but this definitely has both.
There are several of these events each summer. This one in particular featured the Instrument Petting Zoo features, where the kids gave playing real instruments a try, local musicians, and a storytellers. Afterwards the children made their way across the street to the tents for art projects, crafts and face painting. A Blue Bell Ice Cream truck was there as well, providing free frozen treats for the kids.
